Service Description

Join us for this inspiring journey into the world of glass powder sketching, where creativity knows no bounds. Unleash your imagination and transform ordinary glass surfaces into extraordinary works of art! Using your sketches (or ones we provide) we will make beautiful art in this hands-on workshop. Sketches or clip art need to be simple, and you will need to bring several copies of each. Size for sketches should be roughly 5” x 7” and 4” x 4”. Designed for both beginners and seasoned artists, this class invites you to explore the unique qualities of glass powder as a versatile and captivating art medium. Gain an understanding of the properties, types, and characteristics of glass and glass powder. Familiarize yourself with the essential tools and materials used in glass powder sketching, including specialized brushes, stencils, and different types of glass surfaces. We will use lines and shading to create depth and dimension in your sketches. Understand the impact of different firing temperatures on the final appearance of your artwork. Learn about finishing techniques, such as polishing and framing, to complete your pieces with finesse. Students will make several different sized pieces, that will be ready for framing, after they have been fired in the kiln. Pieces will be fired and ready for pick up a few days after class. Class is suitable for all levels. Class cost is $90.
